On Monday, 10th May,2021, The Star Farmer Africa, a subsidiary of Shenghait Global Ltd, an organisation birthed with the core objective of harvesting young Agripreneurs across the length and breadth of Africa commenced its empowerment cum distribution of exotic breed piglets to its registered members who had participated in the empowerment exercise.
It will be recalled that the swine empowerment Scheme is one of the four cardinal points by which the organisation intends to drive membership and harvest young Agripreneurs.
In the light of this, eighteen (18) Persons emerged on the list of beneficiaries which in turn were divided into two batches and subsequently trained by a team of experts on commercial swine production. Marking the maiden edition, Ten persons were empowered with exotic breed piglets while the second batch of the distribution is deemed to take off in the coming days. It is worthy of note to mention that these piglets if managed professionally and properly has a potential of becoming a million naira investment within 22 months; thus creating wealth, creating job for the beneficiary and ensure social security. This development is coming under the heels of the organisation’s desire of raising young Agro-millionaires cum Giants across Africa.
While giving out the piglets, the Chief Operations Officer of the Star Farmer Africa, Lohodedoo Iorkyaa congratulated the beneficiaries and wished them success in their quest to raising the African flag in Agripreneurship.
Responding to questions from journalists, the COO confirmed that the organisation aims at putting up programs and people driven initiatives that will power local farmers out of poverty, rejig the practice of agriculture, boast productivity, ensure food security and improve the socio- Economic living standards of the farming population and make agriculture an attractive and thriving industry. He further noted with emphasis that, as part of plans to achieving the organisation’s decade mandate, the organisation is set to establish a savings, loan and thrift cooperative society by the second half of the year, 2021, where farmers nay Agripreneurs can enjoy unfettered access to zero interest Agro-loans to carryout agricultural activities, in good time. Mr. Lohodedoo encouraged young people to key into organisation actionable agenda to benefit from the activities lined up in the coming months.
