FEAR GRIPS REPS MEMBER AS PDP LEADERS WOO CHIEF PHILIP AGBESE TO JOIN PARTY

There is palpable fear in the camp of the incumbent House of Representatives Member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Hon Francis Ottah Agbo as the Peoples Democratic Party leaders are in talks with Chief Philip Agbese in order to woo him to join the party. Our correspondent gathered that top PDP leaders approached Chief Philip Agbese popularly known as Okanga Agila over the weekend to fashion out plans to receive him into the ruling PDP in the state.

This latest move by PDP Leaders to fraternize with Agbese, to woo him to the fold of the PDP is meant to increase the party’s strength in Benue South due to the rising popularity and acceptability of the topmost contender under the All Progressive Congress, APC. Some pundits who also spoke with our correspondent agreed that, the move might be because of the incumbent Rep Member is eyeing the position of Deputy Governor and his earlier promise in the build up to the 2019 General Election to do one term at the Green Chamber.

Aside these factors, the PDP major stakeholders from Ado Local Government are unhappy with the incumbent Rep Member because of his political high-handedness, arrogance and disrespect to the elders, thereby causing disunity within the party. Let’s watch out for interesting days ahead as events unfold and how the Hon Chief Agbese will handle and surmount the pressure to leave his party to join the umbrella party in Benue State.
